This replica coin shows a side view profile of a Native American Chief surounded by the 13 stars, the text "Liberty" on the top of his head and the date below. The reverse features an astounding bald eagle, around it are the texts "United States f America", "E Pluribus Unum" and "In God We Trust".
This variety (Variety 1) of the Indian Head $5 Half Eagle was minted between 1908 and 1929. The coin, designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, weighed 8.359 grams, and had a composition of 90% gold and 10% copper.
This coin is an exact size reproduction of the original (21.6 mm in diameter).
