THE RAREST OF ALL LIBERTY NICKLS - 1913-P - AS AN EXACT SIZE REPLICA PROOF

The Liberty Nickel was designed by Charles E. Barber. Charles Barber was the chief engraver at the United States Mint and designed not only the Liberty Nickel, but the Barber Dime, Quarter and Half as well. The orginal specifications for the Liberty Nickel were a weight of 5 grams, a diameter of 21.2 mm, and a composition of 25% nickel and 75% copper. The Liberty Nickel was minted in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco from the years 1883-1912. It was replaced in the year 1913 by the Buffalo Nickel. However, in the year 1913, 5 proof copies of the Liberty Nickel were minted, making it one of the rarest dates in United States coin history.

A genuine 1913-P Liberty Nickel in similar condition would sell for over $3,000,000.
