The Liberty Nickel was minted in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco from the years 1883-1912. It was replaced in the year 1913 by the Buffalo Nickel. However, in the year 1913, 5 proof copies of the Liberty Nickel were minted, making it one of the rarest dates in United States coin history.
