We've been getting this question from a lot of our customers.  We believe this is more or an art than a science. Like all forms of art, two of the most important aspects of cleaning ancient coins are creativity and patience.  There are a number of different options to Roman Coin cleaning, which can provide one with excellent specimens when completed, but all of them take a great deal of time.  We have many customers to have even soaked coins in distilled water for up to one year.  However, we find this to be a bit excessive, as cleaning ancient coins should not have a significant impact on one's personal relationship with a spouse.  We recommend the following tools:

Distilled water

Olive Oil

White vinegar
